ADMISSION TO FIRST YEAR MBBS CLASS

LNMC is open to all applicants without any discrimination of sex, religion, race, creed, colour or domicile who are academically qualified for admission to the courses of study offered.

Admission to the MBBS programme is based on academic merit and performance in the Aptitude Test / Entry Test conducted by the college & government authority in their respective provinces. Short listed candidates will be evaluated further on interviews. Passing of aptitude test / interview is mandatory. Passing marks are at least 50%.

A high academic score in any single discipline or any outstanding achievement alone is not sufficient for selection.

Criteria for Admission

  • Eligibility for Pakistani Students (As per current PMDC provided criteria)

    The candidate who has passed Intermediate Science Examination (HSC-Pre-Medical Group) for the year 2018 Annual or Annual / Supplementary exam of 2016 securing at least 60% marks in aggregate, unadjusted, from Pakistani Board / University or an equivalent examination of a Board of Higher Secondary Education in Pakistan shall be eligible to apply for admission in MBBS.

    OR

    The candidate who has passed any other examination of a foreign university or examination body for the year 2018 Annual or Annual / Supplementary examination of 2016 which contains the subjects declared as essential by PMDC in scope and standard and whose marks are found equivalent upon certification by the IBCC (Inter Board Committee of Chairmen) to the Intermediate Science Pre-Medical (F.Sc. with 60% marks) Education, shall be eligible for admission in MBBS.

  • Eligibility for Overseas Students

    The following categories of students shall be eligible for admission on the overseas seats.

    • Students, who have physically studied and passed secondary school certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) examination or equivalent examination outside Pakistan during their stay abroad and have a certificate from the institution last attended to this effect, will be treated as overseas candidate, except if they have studied in school run by Pakistani embassy.
    • These students need to have passed an examination equivalent to intermediate level of Pakistan with three science subjects out of which Biology and Chemistry are essential subjects with 60% marks in each as certified by IBCC.
    • The candidate will be required to submit IBCC equivalence Certificate separately for grades equivalence to SSC and HSC attested by the School’s Principal / Officer.
    • In lieu of the provincial government entry test of the admission authority, the candidate is required to have passed SAT-II examination with minimum 550 marks in each of the three subjects of which two have to be Biology and Chemistry or MCAT with minimum aggregate score of 24. However, they would be required to appear in the Liaquat National Hospital and Medical College aptitude test.
    • The fee will be according to the policy of the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council, Islamabad for overseas candidates.
    • The applicants will be required to complete other formalities / requirements as laid down by the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council, Islamabad and Liaquat National Hospital and Medical College for admission to 1st year MBBS class against overseas quota modified time to time.

    Important:

    Ten (10) Marks will be deducted from the total marks (unadjusted) secured by those who have passed their Intermediate (HSC Premedical) or equivalent examination in Annual or Supplementary Examination 2016.

Application Requirements

  • It is extremely important to have a valid email address before filling in / obtaining form for admission.
  • Application form can be obtained online or from the Cash Department, Liaquat National Hospital & Medical College on payment of a mandatory non-refundable processing fee of Rs.5,000/-for local seat and Rs.11,000 /- for overseas seats.
  • Application for admission must be submitted on the Application Form prescribed by LNH&MC which should be submitted online or by hand along with photocopies of supporting documents duly attested by a Gazetted Officer of BPS-18 or above. UNATTESTED DOCUMENTS SHALL NOT BE ENTERTAINED.
  • Candidates waiting for result of HSC-II Annual Examination 2018 can also apply for admission but they have to submit their attested copy of marks sheet on or before 31.10.2017 failing which their forms will be rejected.
  • Following documents need to be attached:

    • 01 attested photocopy of Matriculation Certificate or provisional certificate from the school. 10th Grade or O-Level Equivalence Certificate issued by the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC).
    • 01 attested photocopy of Mark Sheet for Matriculation or Transcript for 10th Grade or O Level.
    • 01 attested photocopy of Marks Sheet for Intermediate Science (HSC) Pre Medical or equivalent Certificate for 12th Grade or A-level.
    • 01 attested photocopy of Transcripts of A level or 12th Grade issued by the concerned Board.
    • 01 attested copy of printout of government entry test result conducted in their respective province in 2018 (for local candidates).
    • 01 recent passport size photograph to be pasted on Application Form and two on admit card without attestation.
    • 01 attested photocopy of applicant’s National Identity Card, if the applicant has attained the age of eighteen years; or “B” form if he/she is below the age of eighteen years.
    • 01 attested photocopy of applicant’s Father’s or Guardian’s National Identity Card.
Note :
  • Applicant can be asked to submit any other document in original or photocopy at any time as required by the LNMC.
  • Incomplete forms shall be rejected. Forms will not be accepted after the closing date or time.
  • The applications for admissions to 1st year MBBS shall be invited through an advertisement in the press mentioning the last date of receiving such applications and other deadlines.

Entry Test / LNMC Aptitude Test

  • The Government Entry Test will be conducted in all provinces on the date and time announced by the respective provincial governments test conducting authority in 2018 for admission to 1st year MBBS class. LNMC aptitude test shall be conducted on Sunday 15.10.2017.
  • All eligible candidates desiring to get admission in MBBS course at LNMC will be required to appear in the aptitude test of Liaquat National Medical College and Entry Test conducted by the provincial government in their respective provinces of residence / city.

  • All admissions are provisional till the verification of documents and the correct observance of the rules. If at any stage it is proved that the candidate has been admitted on the basis of false/incorrect documents or information or against the rules of admission, his/her admission shall be cancelled immediately after giving him/her an opportunity to show cause (within three days) as to why his/her admission should not be cancelled and all fees paid by him/her shall be forfeited and LNMC have the right to take legal action against him/her according to law.
  • The rules and regulations for holding different professional examinations for MBBS course shall be in accordance with the rules and regulations framed by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council for the degree of MBBS as amended from time to time and as approved by the Jinnah Sindh Medical University Karachi.
  • The selected candidates shall get themselves enrolled with the LNMC by paying the LNMC fees in full, when requested.

Medical Fitness Certificate:

  • All selected candidates will have to undergo a Medical Examination.
  • Screening for infectious / communicable disease will be undertaken and if the person is found to have any such disease, he / she shall not be eligible for admission.
  • The candidate will have to produce Medical Fitness Certificate within 15 days of commencement of classes.

Eighty Five (85) seats at LNH&MC are reserved for open competition amongst the candidates who fulfill the Criteria laid down in the rules of admission.

Fifteen (15) seats have been reserved for Overseas Candidates subject to the criteria and other formalities for admission laid down by PM&DC.

* If these seats are not utilized, then the same will be filled by local candidates.
